The Position of Deputy Director

The Executive has created the Deputy Director position in response to input by several people who said they would be willing to help the MLA, but were unable to run for election as a Director.

The MLA is hoping to get at least one person from every Shore or Road Association to assume the role of Deputy Director. This would significantly enhance communications between the various associations and the MLA.

The following is a list of the MLA Deputy Directors and their responsibilities:

Guy Charron - Petrie's Shore
Rick Kwissa - Carleton Place
Chris Winter – Moonlight Bay
Gary Patterson - Hay's Shore
Gisele Neil - Two Oaks (or Ab’s Shore)
Allison Kirkpatrick - High Bank Shore
Gary Arkinson – Robertson Shore
Greg Smith – Lake Park
Ken Ray – Squaw Point
Jeff Wilson – Gardiner Shore

A Deputy Director agrees to assist the MLA Executive in ways outlined below. They are appointed at the discretion of the MLA Executive and can resign at any time. There is no defined term of office and no obligation on the part of the individual to carry out any specific duties or tasks. The position is based on an interest in the goals of the MLA and a desire to help the Executive achieve its objectives.

A Deputy Director will act as a communications channel between lake residents and the MLA Executive by:

- Assisting with the distribution of MLA Newsletters and Bulletins.

- Relating MLA initiatives and concerns to lake residents that live in their area.

- Alerting the MLA Executive to issues that concern lake residents.

- Speaking on behalf of the MLA at their Shore Association meetings.

- Helping recruit new members.

- Promoting the goals of the MLA to local and provincial government representatives.

- Doing anything else that helps the MLA.
