The Mississippi Lakes Association (MLA) maintains a list of Ice-Out dates for when the lake has completely thawed.

Water levels on the Mississippi are rising and there is a lot of floating debris in the lake, including reports of a semi-submerged ice fishing hut in the channel near Petrie shore. Boaters on the lake should use extreme caution to avoid hitting debris.
Ice-Out Dates
The following are the current and past Ice-out dates observed from Ebbs Shore on the Big Lake. If anyone can provide information for earlier dates, that would be much appreciated. Also, some of you may have observed different dates, since many bays trap ice for a few days after it leaves the Big Lake.
